17-year-old arrested after shooting in Pflugerville Connally High School parking lot

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 17-year-old Pflugerville Connally High School student was arrested this week after a shooting in the parking lot of the school that left a former student injured.

The 17-year-old suspect faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony. Attorney information was not yet listed online for the suspect.

Pflugerville Independent School District Interim Superintendent Steve Flores sent a letter to families Monday letting them know about the incident. No other students or staff were injured, and Flores noted that it was believed to be an isolated incident.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, PfISD officers responded to the high school Monday shortly after noon after receiving a call about a person possibly being shot in the parking lot. The affidavit noted that, at first, it was only reported that the victim had been run over, but it was later learned he was also shot.

When officers went into the school, they found the victim’s brother in the front office on the phone with the victim. The affidavit said officers then spoke to the victim over the phone, and he said he was at an urgent care location in Manor and told them the name of the person who shot him and described the car the suspect was driving when it happened. The victim was ultimately transported to Dell Seton in Austin.
