ABJ: Hobby Lobby to backfill space where Randalls plans to close in north Austin

AUSTIN ( Austin Business Journal ) — When a Randalls grocery store closes, a Hobby Lobby opens in its place. At least, it’s happened twice in Austin now.

Albertsons Cos. announced in January that its Randalls store at 10900 Research Blvd. — which is less than half a mile from an H-E-B — would close “on or before” Feb. 10 due to underperformance. And arts-and-crafts retailer Hobby Lobby is set to take over the 58,000-square-foot space.

The new Hobby Lobby is slated to open in the first quarter of 2025, according to Grey Stogner, owner and president of Crestview Real Estate LLC, which has managed the space since 1996.
