The “Take Our Border Back Convoy” – estimated by observers at an overnight stopover in Dripping Springs, Texas to be anywhere from 500 to over 1,000 strong – continues to roll south through the Lone Star State.
The stopover in the Central Texas town of 6,000 featured a rally headlined by Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent, among others:
From Dripping Springs the convoy rolls out to its final stop on the Texas-Mexico Border: a ranch in Quemado – an even smaller town of about 250 people in Maverick County.
A West Coast version of the convoy is planned with a Yuma, Arizona endpoint. Two North Texas members of Congress have expressed their support of the event:
“I say bring those beautiful, huge semis, those 18-wheeler bad boys down here to protect our border. They need to understand that … they can’t sweep this under the rug. People are opening their eyes to it, and I hope it is a fantastic convoy, and I hope it does, you know, shed more light on it.” –Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne (January 25, 2024)
