AUSTIN (KXAN) — A death investigation is underway after the Austin Police Department said a body was pulled from Lady Bird Lake on Monday.
Around 1:31 p.m., officers responded for a check welfare urgent call in the 300 block of West Cesar Chavez, APD Officer Ariel Crumes said during a news conference.

When officers arrived on the scene around 1:33 p.m., they found the body of an unknown person who was pronounced dead, according to police.
According to APD, police were still “actively recovering the body.”
No other details were provided Monday.
