DPS investigating deadly crash on FM 969 as hit-and-run

AUSTIN (KXAN) – The Texas Department of Public Safety said troopers are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that closed lanes of FM 969 in eastern Travis County Wednesday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m., a Texas DPS trooper responded to the crash near the 900 block of FM 969. That’s two miles east of U.S. Highway 183.

According to DPS, an unidentified male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that drove away from the scene.

The road was closed for a few hours Wednesday morning, but all lanes reopened around 6:30 a.m.

DPS said the investigation is on-going, and no other information was released.
