Eli Manning Offers His Opinion On Arch Manning’s Future At Texas

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning joined the Zach Gelb Show and offered his thoughts about Arch Manning’s future with Texas.

“He picked Texas because that’s where he wants to be,” Manning said. “That’s where he wants to play football. He likes Coach Sarkisian and his offense and what they’re doing. He knew last year that he was gonna go, he was gonna redshirt, get some playing time.

“I think the plan was (Quinn) Ewers would maybe go in the NFL, but he’s there. It’s another year for Arch to mature, learn the offense, get bigger and stronger in the weight room, and always be prepared to play. You never know what’s gonna happen.”

Manning saw action in two games last season as a true freshman, completing 2-of-5 attempts for 30 passing yards. He was expected to be the starting quarterback next season, but Quinn Ewers announced his decision to return for his senior season after leading the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff.

Manning signed with Texas as a five-star prospect out of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2023, according to the On3 industry rankings .
