College football fans have been calling for Arch Manning to start for the Texas Longhorns from the moment he set foot onto campus, and on Saturday, that call will be answered.

He is starting for the No. 1 Longhorns against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks in place of the injured Quinn Ewers. We saw Manning step into action last Saturday against UTSA and rack up five touchdowns once Ewers went down, which led to many firing up the claim that he can take Ewers’ job.

A sentiment that according to ESPN “College GameDay” analyst, Pat McAfee, his family doesn’t agree with.

“Quinn was actually 14 of 16, with two touchdowns in the game, and he ended up getting hurt and exiting, and Arch Manning comes in there,” McAfee said. “But let’s just look at the reality of the situation. Then he comes back to Texas and he has been elite. He’s been favored as the first overall pick.
