AUSTIN, Texas – A person was taken to the hospital after being shot in east Austin early Thursday morning, police said. Austin Police Department officers responded to a welfare check at approximately 5:51 a.m. in the 5500 block of Cameron Road. Upon arrival, they found one victim with gunshot wounds.
