In a Big 12 battle taking place in Lubbock, Texas, between the No. 20 Colorado Buffaloes (6-2) and the Texas Tech Raiders (6-3), tempers were flaring seemingly all game.
The home crowd was consistently irate with the officials throughout the game, but things seemed to really escalate towards the end of the third quarter after what they viewed as a couple of late hits by the Buffs on defense.
While the Red Raiders fans are known for throwing Tortillas onto the field as some part of whacky tradition, they ended up taking a page out of the book of Texas Longhorns fans. Following a couple of calls that didn’t go their way, the broadcast revealed that Red Raiders fans were hurling water bottles and other debris onto the field toward Colorado’s bench.
Deion Sanders’ son and the Buffaloes’ safety, Shilo Sanders, appeared to take exception to that and tossed one back toward the fans.
Senior Quality Control Analyst for Colorado and Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp pulled Sanders away after he tossed the bottle.
