It was another wild week across the college football landscape.
A couple of massive upsets took place in Week 11 and a few other ranked teams barely escaped the day with a win. No. 2 Georgia suffered a loss to No. 16 Ole Miss and No. 4 Miami was defeated by unranked Georgia Tech. The losses dropped Georgia to No. 11 and Miami to No. 12 in the updated AP Top 25 Poll this week.
Those two losses also helped Texas rise in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll . The Longhorns now sit at No. 3 in the nation behind Oregon and Ohio State in both major non-playoff polls. The Longhorns are coming off an impressive 49-17 win against Florida on Saturday where quarterback Quinn Ewers tossed five touchdown passes.
The next College Football Playoff poll will be released on Tuesday. It’s very likely the Longhorns will land at No. 3 in that poll as well, setting Texas up for a first-round bye in the playoff bracket if they’re able to win the remaining games on their schedule.
