Texas Receives Critical Injury News Ahead of Peach Bowl

The Texas Longhorns have officially touched down in Atlanta for their Peach Bowl matchup against Arizona State and have one of their top weapons ready to go on New Year’s Day.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Sunday that Longhorns wide receiver Isaiah Bond will play in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup against the Sun Devils on Wednesday. Bond has been dealing with an ankle injury and was held out of UT’s 38-24 first-round victory over Clemson on December 21. He had been practicing with the team in Austin this past week and now has the green light to go at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

This is certainly good news for Texas as it will get one of its most effective pass-catching threats back onto the field for the playoff showdown. The former Alabama wideout transferred to UT last offseason as one of the more high-profile names in the transfer portal and immediately made an impact at the beginning of the 2024 campaign.

He put his skills on display in the team’s 56-7 beatdown of UTSA on September 144, hauling in five receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns, seemingly poised for an All-SEC caliber year.
