The iconic blue brick home furniture store with bright yellow lettering is entering the I-35 corridor with plans to open a new store to serve communities in both San Antonio and Austin.
IKEA announced it is opening a “small city store” in San Marcos this spring. The Sweden-founded, Netherlands-based easy-to-assemble furniture store is known for its massive stores that average 300,000 square feet in size , but the San Marcos outlet will be much smaller at 35,000 square feet. A likely perfect size for the growing city of over 70,000.
