Blue Hole Nature Center gets $3M for expansion, conservation

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Blue Hole Nature Center in Hays County received a $3 million investment to expand and support conservation education in Wimberley, Texas.

The funds were from the Hays County Parks and Open Space Bond, a $75 million voter-approved initiative to enhance parks and conservation.

“The Nature Center will be dedicated to hands-on learning, ecological preservation and sustainable recreation,” the county said. “With this funding, [Wimberley’s] Parks and Recreation Department will design and develop a space connecting people of all ages with the rich biodiversity of the Texas Hill Country.”…
