One Injured in Early Morning Shooting at East Austin Apartment Complex

Early Friday morning, the calm of an East Austin apartment complex was pierced by gunfire, leaving one person wounded. According to CBS Austin, the incident took place at the Loyola Junction complex on 6525 Ed Bluestein Blvd SVRD SB. The Austin Police Department (APD) received a Shoot/Stab Hotshot call at about 4:48 a.m. and upon arrival, they discovered one individual with a gunshot wound.

As first responders quickly attended to the victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, they were transported to a local hospital for care. The current status of the victim remains yet to be reported not far from Loyola Lane and U.S. 183, adding to a growing account of gun-related incidents in the region. KVUE notes that this shooting occurred roughly at the same vicinity around 5 a.m., providing a narrow window into the night’s violent events.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Although no suspects have been taken into custody as of yet, APD has stated that they believe this to be an isolated incident.
