Man gets 20 years in prison for murder following fatal 2021 shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was convicted and sentenced March 19 after pleading guilty to a first-degree murder charge related to a February 2021 fatal shooting.

According to Travis County court documents, 28-year-old Sammie Spencer received a 20-year prison sentence for the murder charge, which was related to the death of 27-year-old Marcel Pimpton .

Three others were also arrested and charged related to Pimpton’s death, according to past KXAN coverage.

Toward his sentence, Spencer received a jail credit of 1,145 days, which is a little over 3 years and 1 month…
