Texas is a massive state, there are definitely more than 5 haunted places in the Lone Star State but I wanted to share these famously haunted spots with you.
Bragg Road – Between Beaumont and Livingston
Bragg Road is unassuming but is known for a classic Texas haunting. For as long as Bragg Road has existed, visitors have seen ghostly apparitions, experienced malfunctioning electronics and stalled vehicles, and even heard disembodied voices. The most famous haunting is The Light of Saratoga refers to the lantern of a decapitated railroad worker who haunts the roadway and the glow from his ghostly lantern can be seen at the same time every night as he searches for his missing head.
The Driskill Hotel – Austin, TX
Driskill Hotel, 6th Street, Austin, Texas
A haunted hotel that also happens to be one of the most popular in the city. The Driskill Hotel was built in the mid 1800s and is home to decades of hauntings. Both staff and guests have reported everything from voices to flickering lights and even a ghost boy who travels the halls of The Driskill. This is just one of the infamous ghosts that takes residence at the hotel.
The USS Lexington – Corpus Christi, TX
A decommissioned warship docked forever in Corpus Christi. There are many ghosts that roam the halls of this ship but the most famous by far is Charlie. A good natured crewman who many people have reported having full conversations with. Many people walk by him thinking he is an actor or staff member, but when they turn to see him again, he’s gone. When you’re not chatting up Charlie, you’ll probably be hearing the ghostly echo of bombs from the past, or seeing some other unlucky soldier who lost his life aboard the USS Lexington.
Devils Backbone – Texas Hill Country
