APD investigates homicide in north Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said its officers were investigating a homicide Saturday morning in north Austin.

APD said officers responded to a check welfare call after a man was found with “obvious trauma.” First responders performed life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.

According to police, the man was declared dead at approximately 4:55 a.m.

According to police, the incident occurred near the 12600 block of North Lamar Boulevard and was being investigated as Austin’s 14th homicide of 2025.
