Every spring, dog lovers across West Texas look forward to celebrating their four-legged friends, especially at the Abilene Kennel Club’s annual Dog Show. The 2025 event is set for May 16-18, and while hundreds of breeds will take the spotlight, some are especially near and dear to West Texans.
As someone who spent years raising Golden Retrievers for the Foundation for the Blind and being part of both the American and Abilene Kennel Clubs, I always get excited when new “Top Dog” lists are released.
