AUSTIN, Texas — Construction of a new bridge over Lady Bird Lake is halfway to completion. The eastern end of Austin’s most popular hike and bike trail is getting a $25-million-dollar makeover. The unique bridge will give walkers, runners, and cyclists a safer way to get across Lady Bird Lake than South Pleasant Valley Road.
Southeast of Downtown Austin, the city is getting a first-of-its-kind bridge. A wishbone bridge is taking shape with concrete beams almost spanning Lady Bird Lake.
