Motorcyclist hospitalized after hit-and-run on Mopac Wednesday morning

AUSTIN, Texas — A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a hit-and-run crash involving a Toyota Camry on Mopac Expressway, according to the Austin Police Department. The crash was reported just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The northbound lanes were shut down from Westover to 35th Street.

Police said the driver of the Toyota Camry fled the scene after the collision. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital and later transferred to the intensive care unit.

Officials have since cleared the scene, and traffic was flowing as normal by 5:40 a.m…
