AUSTIN, Texas — Austin ISD is looking to hire dozens of experienced teachers with proven track records in the classroom to help turn around three under-performing schools. The school district says it’s looking for “transformative teachers” who can have an immediate impact on student achievement at Dobie, Webb, and Burnet Middle Schools. Those schools have received multiple “F” ratings from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) state accountability rating system.
Austin ISD is prepared to pay up to $20,000 in annual stipends to lure outstanding teachers to the district’s lowest-performing schools.
