The Austin Police Department (APD) has announced the arrest of Darius Sebastian Hatcher, 26, in connection with the murders of Shamar Roach and Kendrick Parker, which occurred on April 20, 2025. Hatcher was charged with Capital Murder of Multiple Persons on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
The investigation into the double homicide began after APD officers responded to multiple calls of a shooting at a parking garage located at 2604 Aldrich Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 20th. Upon arrival, officers discovered two males, identified as Kendrick Parker (age 32) and Shamar Roach (age 24), lying on the ground with fatal gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Witness interviews conducted shortly after the incident helped detectives identify a suspect vehicle. APD detectives issued a be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) for the vehicle, and later that night, officers with the Manor Police Department initiated a stop on it.
