AUSTIN (KXAN) — After isolated severe storms made their way into Central Texas, just north of Austin, KXAN viewers began sending in photos and videos of hail, storm clouds and more.
Central Texans who encountered the storms likely saw hail and damaging winds, according to KXAN’s First Warning Weather Team. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for Llano, Burnet, Lampasas, Williamson and Milam counties until midnight, with the potential for localized severe storms continuing through the evening.
Chief Meteorologist Nick Bannin reported 66 mph winds in Burnet at the airport around 8:40 p.m. He also reported there was golf ball size hail in Leander shortly after 9 p.m.
