Travis County judge blocks AG Ken Paxton’s rule to access ‘rogue DA’ criminal files

AUSTIN, Texas — A Travis County judge temporarily blocked a ruling from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to force some district attorneys to turn over case records.

A new rule mandates that prosecutors in counties of 400,000 or more people send active and closed case files to an oversight committee controlled by the Attorney General’s Office on a regular basis.
