AUSTIN (KXAN) – Gov. Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 571, which aims to close loopholes that bad actors might use to gain access to public and private schools, into law Sunday night. The law also expands the state’s authority to investigate allegations of misconduct against contractors and volunteers who work on school campuses.
“No more cover-ups. No more passing the trash,” said Abbott in a tweet about the legislation.
