Long Center Announces Kerr County Benefit Concert

On Sunday, July 13, the Long Center will join businesses and organizations across Austin in assisting relief efforts after last weekend’s historic flooding.

Musicians, food trucks, and relief resources will gather at For the Heart of Texas: A Benefit for Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to generate donations for those affected by the Fourth of July flooding across Central Texas. More than 15 local artists will lend their talents to the cause, including Austin icons like rock songwriter Bob Schneider, multi-hyphenate Walker Lukens, Latin-folk singer Gina Chavez, and pop-folk artist Sarah Hickman. Additionally, two Western-influenced trios will take the stage: the Lone Star-studded Chaparelle and up-and-comers Next of Kin. Alt-R&B outfits TheBrosFresh and LeTrainiump are set to perform, along with psychedelic pop projects Buffalo Hunt and Dossey, and several more.

Tickets to the 5pm show are pay what you can, with a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds will go to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which supports nonprofit organizations, first responders, and local governments in the communities of Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort as rescue missions continue for the more than 150 Texans still missing, and long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts take shape…
