A tragic incident unfolded in Southeast Austin this past Friday when a rollover collision claimed the life of a child and left three adults injured. CBS Austin reports that the accident involving two vehicles occurred around 1:25 p.m. along Dee Gabriel Collins Road.
The specific location of the crash was pinpointed between 8500 and 8525 Dee Gabriel Collins Rd, where one vehicle ended up overturned. According to MySA, Austin-Travis County EMS was on the scene and noted that four individuals had been involved in the collision. The child was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the injuries sustained by the adults were deemed non-life-threatening, despite the severity of the accident.
Following the crash, traffic was disrupted along FM 812 with closures affecting both eastbound and westbound lanes. The lanes remained closed for approximately an hour before reopening around 4 p.m., as confirmed by the Texas Department of Transportation.
