Woman injured in Austin home explosion files lawsuit against gas companies, contractor involved

AUSTIN, Texas — A woman who was severely injured after her neighbor’s home exploded in northwest Austin is suing the home contractor and propane companies involved in the incident.

Six people were injured and 24 homes were damaged in the April 13 explosion. The Travis County Fire Marshal said the blast was caused by a propane gas leak inside a neighboring residence. Several neighboring homes either completely or partially collapsed.
