Austin Tragedy: Bicyclist Reginaldo Perez Dies After Collision with Pickup Truck on Montopolis Drive

In the dark early hours of July 13, Austin’s streets were the scene of yet another tragedy, as a collision between a pickup truck and a bicyclist claimed the life of Reginaldo Perez. The crash, which occurred at the intersection of Montopolis Drive and Carnation Terrace, was reported at 2:26 a.m., according to the Austin Police Department (APD).

The Austin Police responded to the scene, where they found Perez with life-threatening injuries. After being transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, his fight for survival ended two days later. The driver of the pickup truck, who was confirmed not to have been impaired, remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation, as reported by the City of Austin.
