Travis County Lifts Restrictions on Lake Travis Following Flood Emergency

On Thursday, officials from Travis County declared that full recreational access to Lake Travis has been restored after several weeks of limited access due to significant flooding that occurred earlier this month.

The lake faced limitations due to a county disaster declaration, which temporarily halted all recreational activities to prioritize public safety in light of increasing water levels and debris issues.

Following significant rainfall upstream, floodgates were opened, resulting in excessive runoff from the Colorado River into the lake, which caused a rise in water levels and prompted the initial closure.
