Travis, Williamson counties invite residents to apply for flood relief

Travis and Williamson county residents affected by the deadly July 5 flooding can now apply for monetary assistance from local relief funds run by the Central Texas Community Foundation, officials announced Tuesday.

The foundation hopes to raise $10 million to support Williamson and Travis counties long-term flood relief — money that will go directly to support families recovering from the disaster, saidAmy Merida, executive director of the foundation.

“The role of this community foundation is not just to react, but to respond with integrity, with transparency and with compassion,” Merida said at a news conference Tuesday. “It’s something that we hope will provide meaningful support as they look to rebuild.”…
