Tropical system poses rain threat to Central Texas this weekend

AUSTIN, Texas — The National Hurricane Center increased the likelihood of tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico to 40% Thursday as CBS Austin meteorologists track a system that could bring heavy rainfall to Central Texas this weekend.

The disturbance has shown increased organization and thunderstorm activity in the Bay of Campeche.
