Austin, Texas is about to get a little more… chicken-y.
On Aug. 26, Chicken Salad Chick, a fast-casual restaurant chain reminiscent of the 2010s specializing in, you guessed it, chicken salad, is opening its first location within Austin city limits at 1000 East 41st Street. The restaurant promises to bring its brand of Southern charm and, of course, a dozen different kinds of chicken salad to the table.

This isn’t the chain’s first foray into the Austin area; they already have a spot in Pflugerville. This new location, however, marks a significant push into the city itself, spearheaded by franchise owner Troy Morrison.
Morrison seems to believe that Austin’s diners are ready for what he’s calling “fresh, flavorful dining” in the form of made-from-scratch chicken salad. Whether Austin’s foodies agree remains to be seen, but the restaurant is certainly trying to sweeten the deal. The grand opening celebration is kicking off with a bang — or rather, a gift card. The first 100 people in line on Aug. 26 will be rewarded with free chicken salad for a year. The first person in line gets a weekly fix, while the next 99 get a monthly one. The rest of the week is packed with similar promotions, including free tumblers, picnic blankets, and coolers for certain purchases…
