AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas House has voted to reissue civil arrest warrants for state representatives who continue to be absent without excuse.
During Friday’s floor session, House Speaker Tom Burrows told members he expects quorum to be reestablished on Monday. He warned absent members that they will not be allowed to quietly return to Texas for the weekend without facing consequences.
“DPS will remain active and civil arrest warrants will be reissued,” Burrows said. “If you are located, you will be compelled to this chamber.”…
