Gusto Italian Kitchen set to reopen after suspected drunk driver crashes into building

AUSTIN, Texas — An Italian restaurant in central Austin will reopen Saturday after being closed for nearly two weeks when a suspected drunk driver crashed into the building and fled the scene.

Gusto Italian Kitchen + Wine Bar at 4800 Burnet Road will resume dinner service Aug. 16, according to Cameron Lockley, president of Flavor Hospitality Group, which operates the restaurant.

“After being closed for almost two weeks due to a drunk driver crashing into the building in the early morning hours of Sunday Aug. 3, our team is ready to get back to what we do best — providing genuine hospitality,” Lockley said in a statement Friday…
