Man accused of breaking in, releasing dogs at Texas animal shelter

AUSTIN (KXAN) —  A man in Texas has been arrested for allegedly breaking into an animal shelter and releasing most of the dogs from their kennels, according to local authorities.

Jacob G. Bender, 38, is facing criminal trespass charges.

As a result of the incident, one dog died and at least five dogs sustained injuries. The shelter, Austin Pets Alive!, said all the missing dogs were found and accounted for.
