AUSTIN, Texas — Police are searching for a woman who allegedly told her 5-year-old child to steal a package from an Central Austin apartment mailroom in July.
The incident occurred at 8:07 p.m. July 1 at 2500 Longview Street, according to the Austin Police Department. Police said the woman delivered a package to the apartment complex’s parcel room, then directed her child to take a different package.
Amazon has no record of the delivery, leaving investigators uncertain whether the suspect was impersonating a delivery driver to gain building access or was an actual Amazon employee working off the clock…
