Austin-based comic and rising star lands on ‘Saturday Night Live’ cast

Less than five years into his stand-up comedy career, Kam Patterson — a West Orlando native now based in Austin — is joining the cast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live as the legendary late-night sketch show prepares to enter its 51st season on October 4.

NBC announced on Tuesday, September 2, that five new comedians will join the show this fall, following high-profile shakeups in August. Among the fresh new faces are Patterson, who struck gold as a regular on the Austin-based, career launching “anti-woke” Kill Tony podcast, and Jeremy Cuhlane, another performer with Texas ties as an alumn of Texas Christian University. They both join the other newest players, Ben Marshall, Veronika Slowikowska and Tommy Brennan.
