AUSTIN, Texas — On Thursday, the Austin Independent School District sent letters to parents of students attending 12 schools within the district. The letters alerted families to potential school closures or major modifications.
The letters were sent because the state’s accountability standards had not been met for three consecutive years.
The Austin American-Statesman reported that the following schools have each received three consecutive F ratings: Bedicheck, Martin and Paredes middle schools; Barrington, Dawson, Linder, Oak Springs, Pecan Springs, Sanchez, Widen, and Wooldridge elementary schools; and Winn Montessori school…
