‘Texas powerhouse’ city ranks Top 3 in the US for new apartments

It feels like everyday an empty plot of land is being bought to build some sort of swanky housing project. Now, a new study is confirming that one Central Texas city is experiencing a higher demand for rental apartments.

Austin was named the third-highest metro with new apartment construction in the U.S., according to Rent Cafe. The report mentions Austin as one of several thriving Texas metros leading the apartment-building boom in the South.

This year, new apartment construction remained strong with more than 500,000 units expected to be going up by the end of 2025. That’s below last year’s numbers but still higher than annual averages since 2015…
