Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson donated $16 million to the University of Texas at Austin to support engineering students, civic education students and the school’s marching band.
The financial endowment will go to the operational cost of the Longhorn Band and the university’s civic leadership school, as well as funding the tuition and study abroad opportunities for engineering students. Additionally, $5 million will support engineering students, $5 million will go to civic education and $6 million will be used for band students.
