Tesla hit 104 mph seconds before crash with 18-wheeler in Travis County

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — Four people were injured, including the driver, after a Tesla crashed into an 18-wheeler in eastern Travis County in August.

According to court documents, on Aug. 26, around 4:49 p.m., a state trooper responding to a multi-vehicle crash on SH 130 near FM 973 in eastern Travis County found a damaged 18-wheeler, a crushed Tesla, and another damaged 18-wheeler pulling a box trailer at the scene.

Those injured in the crash had already been taken to the hospital, with one female victim transported by helicopter directly from the highway, according to the arrest affidavit…
