The Austin metroplex continues to grow, and so do the neighboring towns. The rapid growth comes as a major new development is shaping up to transform the city of Kyle, bringing retail, residential and civic amenities to an area long underserved.
On Tuesday, September 16, Kyle City Council approved a resolution accepting a petition to create the CityPoint Public Improvement District (PID) and scheduled a public hearing for October 21, according to the city’s Chief Communications Officer Linda Klepper. The hearing will allow residents and property owners to weigh in on the district.
The PID is one of several steps required to finalize annexation and advance the project through city approval. CityPoint Kyle, also referred to by the city as Project Sahara, sits between County Road 158 and FM 150 (on the East Side of the town).
