AUSTIN (KXAN) — After seven years in Austin, the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC) is preparing for a major change. The command, which has been headquartered downtown since 2018, will officially deactivate this week, with a new organization taking its place.
A ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 2, at the LBJ Auditorium on the University of Texas campus. The event will mark the end of AFC and the activation of the new Transformation and Training Command.
