New hearing reveals multiple shootings led up to mass shooting at Juneteenth festival

AUSTIN, Texas — A court hearing on Thursday revealed new information about the events leading up to the mass shooting at a Juneteenth festival in Round Rock last year, where two women were killed and several others were injured.

At the center of the hearing was the $1 million bond of Ricky Thompson III, who is charged with aggravated assault in connection with the violence at Old Settlers Park.

The first witness called was Thompson’s grandmother, who lived with him, his mother, and his brothers in Pflugerville at the time of the attack.
