Austin group drives effort to display Ten Commandments in Texas classrooms

AUSTIN, Texas — An Austin-based organization is helping ensure that schools across Texas have the Ten Commandments displayed in classrooms, as required by a new state law facing multiple legal challenges.

The law, known as Senate Bill 10, took effect Sept. 1. It mandates that all public schools display posters of the Ten Commandments in classrooms. Some districts have purchased the posters directly, while others are relying on donations.
