A lot of Texas fans can agree that even though the Longhorns are now 5-2, last night’s game kind of felt like a loss. Despite coming up with quite a few big stops, the defense looked completely lost in the 2nd half.
Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense gave up 395 total yards of offense, 26 first downs, and allowed Kentucky QB Cutter Boley to complete 80% of his pass attempts on the night. Though these stats are absolutely atrocious, it wasn’t completely the defense’s fault. In fact, about 80% of the problem against the Wildcats could be attributed to Steve Sarkisian and the offense.
It was undoubtedly one of the worst offensive playcalling performances that the Longhorns have had in a long time, and thankfully, it was against a team like Kentucky. The fact that Sarkisian was basically complaining that the offense was stuck in 3rd & long all night made Longhorns fans everywhere want to punch a wall…
