Houston man charged in SE Austin jugging case after GPS places him at scene of $2k theft

AUSTIN, Texas — A Houston man has been charged in connection with a “jugging” incident in southeast Austin after investigators say GPS data placed him at the scene where $2,000 in cash was stolen from a driver.

According to an affidavit filed by an investigator with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) , Mekhi Isaiah McKinstry, 21, of Houston, is accused of following a man from a Chase Bank on Riverside Drive before breaking into his vehicle and stealing cash from the console.
