Houston has a higher share of A-rated schools than any other region in Texas, according to newly released scores from the advocacy group Children at Risk.
Just over half of Houston-area campuses improved in 2024-25 from the previous year, according to the nonprofit’s annual rankings, compared to 49% statewide. Growth has slowed since last year, however, when almost 60% of Houston campuses improved their scores.
