AUSTIN, Texas — The family of a U.S. Marine Corps major killed in a military training accident received a mortgage-free home in Austin as part of a Veterans Day initiative by a national charity.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation presented the home to Meredith Lewis and her three children in honor of her husband, Maj. Tobin Lewis, who died during a training exercise in Australia on Aug. 27, 2023.
“Tunnel to Towers has changed the trajectory of our future completely,” Meredith Lewis said. “Being seen and supported by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and their patrons is truly humbling.
